As the United Nations marks its 80th anniversary and advances its reform agenda, the resolution stands as a tangible triumph for multilateralism, placing gender equality at its heart. It is also a clear expression of shared commitment to the United Nations, the implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action, and the advancement of the Pact for the Future. This will bring CSW closer to the lived realities of women and girls and help bridge the gap between global commitments and local experiences. This will make CSW discussions more impactful, dynamic, and responsive, with a sharper focus on areas that can decisively move the needle on gender equality and women’s empowerment. This revitalization will further strengthen the Commission on the Status of Women to lead the next chapter in advancing gender equality, the rights and the empowerment of all women and girls everywhere.
