Correios de Portugal (CTT) announced today the temporary suspension of parcel shipments and postal items containing goods to the United States, including Puerto Rico and other US territories. The exemption will cease to apply on 29 August 2025, requiring all incoming goods shipments to undergo customs clearance and payment of duties. However, postal items consisting solely of documents and gifts exchanged between individuals valued at less than US$100 remain unaffected and continue to be accepted for delivery. CTT further clarified that customers may continue to send goods to the United States using CTT Expresso’s Premium International service, available to contractual Expresso clients. This service allows shipments up to 30 kg, with delivery and customs charges payable directly by the recipient.
