In this first dispatch, we want to share some of our recent work on Malleable Software with Embark, talk a bit about our Researchers-in-Residence program, and introduce you to Mary Rose Cook. So, this year, Paul Sonnentag and Geoffrey Litt from the Malleable Software track teamed up with independent researcher Alexander Obenauer to design another take on dynamic documents. Video games are an interesting use case because “building games faster” is basically the hardest version of the problem Mary is tackling—games often require defining complex behavior.
