There is a concern for severe weather across West Alabama and a significant portion of the state on Wednesday, September 24, and Thursday, September 25.
Severe Weather OutlookThe Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has West Alabama under a Marginal Risk (Level 1 out of 5) for strong to severe thunderstorms on Wednesday.
As of now, the Marginal Risk for Thursday covers a small portion of the southernmost counties in West Alabama and is mainly confined to most of South Alabama.
There is a moderate to severe drought in place across the state, and many locations across will see between one and two inches of much-needed rain.
With the incoming wet weather, the National Weather Service in Birmingham has placed a “Marginal Risk (Level 1 out of 4) of Excessive Rainfall on Wednesday.”The Townsquare Media Weather Center will closely monitor the severe weather threat and provide timely updates to keep you informed.
