Through vote chori the government is not only undoing the autonomy of the ECI, but also destroying the very foundation of the political system: justice. Truth is manifested in the form of fair elections in representative democracies, and in its absence, any democracy is compromised. The Indian opposition’s allegation about vote chori raises an epistemic dilemma, challenging the notion of truth as imposed by those in power. Such groups are conditioned to prioritise political power above all else, relegating truth, justice, and morality to a secondary or insignificant position. It should be our moral responsibility and political commitment to disseminate evidence-based information that holds the political dispensation and institutions responsible.
