Pershore Town Council has criticised the unauthorised painting of a St George's flag on the roundabout near Newlands and Abbey Road. Painting the roundabout without prior approval is illegal and could be costly to repair, a spokesperson for the town council said. A Pershore Town Council spokesperson said: "Pershore Town Council is aware of the recent unauthorised painting of the St George’s Flag on the Newlands/Abbey Road junction roundabout. "The council does not condone vandalism in any form, and we will work with Highways at Worcestershire County Council to ensure the roundabout is restored in line with legal and safety standards. "The town council are not led by any political party and are proud to be a council at the grass roots of the community – here for the people.
