The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) awarded a total of 19 projects valued at approximately $41.6 million at the monthly State Transportation Board meeting held in August. Two projects are taking place in Northeast Georgia. The first is a 25 miles pavement marking upgrades starting at I-85 north of SR63/Martin Bridge Rd overpass to south of Hartwell Lake. And in Madison County, G-DOT crews will be working on signing, pavement marking upgrades, and shoulder rehabilitation projects on various county roads. The August awards bring the total construction contracts for Fiscal Year 2026, which began on July 1, 2025, to approximately $444 million.
