A South Carolina escapee has been indicted in Franklin County on 10 counts, including Theft by Bringing Stolen Property Into the State and multiple traffic charges. 33-year-old Devin Jake Fisher of Richmond County, SC had escaped from the Union County, SC jail along with 25-year-old Nicklaus Chase Bevis of Union County, SC. Fisher and Bevis were arrested, and during an interview with investigators, Bevis admitted the pair had escaped from the Union County, SC jail. GSP contacted the Union County Sheriff’s office and found they had no idea the pair had escaped. Also arrested later in that investigation were three other people in South Carolina who had allegedly helped the pair escape.
