A twinning event that would have officially linked the towns of Fishguard and Goodwick with Rosslare in Ireland was due to take place this week. It was feared that rough seas, such as these pictured affecting the Stena Europe when it was previously on the Fishguard Rosslare run, would not make the twinning event pleasant. Due to this week’s inclement weather, the event was cancelled with participants being told on Monday that Rosslare Council had taken the decision to postpone the signing event. This is not the only event at Fishguard Port that has been postponed because of the strong winds and high seas. The signing of the Rosslare- Fishguard and Goodwick twinning agreement will now be postponed until a later date, understood to be in mid-October.
