The South San Joaquin Irrigation District is getting rid of ornamental grass in front of its headquarters just east of Manteca on Highway 120 in advance of new state water laws going into effect in 2027. The board when they meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. will consider a $63,700 project to replace the grass with 4,415 square feet of synthetic turf and 440 linear feet of 1x4 bender board.
