ΔTarget: Martin Heydon, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Dublin, IrelandGoal: Enact “Stout’s Law” with tougher licensing, surprise inspections, lifetime animal-ownership bans, and shutdowns of illegal breeding sheds after a puppy reportedly suffered such neglect that euthanasia followed. An 11-week-old collie puppy named Stout was reportedly rescued from a backyard breeding shed and later euthanised due to severe neglect-related suffering. A collie puppy of only 11 weeks reportedly left a backyard breeding shed so compromised that euthanasia followed. Local representatives have now passed a motion calling for “Stout’s Law” to fix gaps that allow unethical breeding to flourish. We respectfully urge you to introduce and champion Stout’s Law without delay.
