Essex County Council has announced the provisional winning bidder for its medium-term residual waste treatment contract. “The successful delivery of Indaver Rivenhall’s proposed treatment solutions will mean Essex County Council ceases to use landfill as a residual waste disposal method from 1 October 2025, earlier than the council’s zero landfill by 2030 policy commitment. Last year, the company successfully secured the removal of council requirements to include additional treatment facilities – including an anaerobic digester and mechanical biological treatment facility – as part of an integrated waste management project.
