About half the public support the use of weight loss drugs to treat obesity or weight-related conditions for adults and for these medications to be covered by Medicaid and Medicare. Fifty-four percent of adults think it’s a good idea to use weight loss drugs such as Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, or Zepbound for adults with obesity or a weight related condition. About half of the public favor covering weight loss drugs through Medicare, the national health care insurance program mainly for seniors, and Medicaid, a government health care program for low-income people and people with certain disabilities.
