Ive been thinking about this a lot lately and although I think the committee has mostly gotten it right, it all comes down to their “perception” of who they think are the best 4 teams and the CFP turns into a subjective guess instead of picks based on tangible evidence. The most intriguing thing to me is all we ever hear all year long is how different the styles of play are in each Power 5 conference. That leaves 3 teams for the committee to be “subjective” with but what it also does is gives teams like Central Florida a chance to get in and actually play for something.
