The defensive backs are still struggling, they went more zone this week and the main thing for the Minnesota passing game was posts and slants between the hashmarks, putting the pressure back on the linebackers to defend the pass and Iowa is still reminding us of how that worked. One week the leading receiver is Hill, the next Campbell or Victor are making huge plays of the game, but every week McLaurin is right there having success and helping defenses not know which weapon Haskins is going to throw it to. Having both in allows one to lead block for the other, something that worked very well with Weber and Curtis Samuel in 2016 and imagine having to cover both these guys in the passing game, a linebacker isn’t fast enough, and a defensive back isn’t physical enough.
