A goal is something like “write a research paper about THING ”, “publish a blog post on the THING ”, “develop an Emacs package to do THING ”, where THING is what you care about. Of course, if you use the tools properly, then things change and a “second brain” starts to make sense. Once you have the app, start with one goal, such as “use Linux” and make it happen.
