Grand Forks Gazette: grandforks
Vancouver police issued the warning Monday (Sept. 22) about 60-year-old Hopley, who was released into the community on a recalculated statutory release date after he breached his previous conditions for a statutory release.
Police added the department's high-risk offender unit will work with Correctional Service of Canada to monitor Hopley, also asking anyone who sees him breaching his release conditions to call 911.
In May, Hopley was arrested hours after a statutory release from a Mission prison.
He was released from Mission Institution on May 22 after receiving a statutory release.
Hopley was directed to live at a Vancouver halfway house, but police said he "refused direction of his parole officer and left the halfway house."
