Specifically, we would like to address several areas highlighted in the letter in today’s paper. More importantly, LVUSD provided a fair and competitive increase that puts our hourly workers ahead of neighboring districts. LVUSD offers opportunities that neighboring districts cannot match. UC acceptance rates have climbed seven percent—an extraordinary gain during one of the most competitive admission cycles in history. Math scores have improved for four consecutive years, even though our students were already performing well above the state average.
