I am writing to bring to our community’s attention a matter that strikes at the core of transparency, accountability and free speech within the Las Virgenes Unified School District. When a recent claim surfaced that a teacher allegedly celebrated the death of Charlie Kirk on social media, LVUSD Board President Dallas Lawrence immediately contacted me and asked me to remain silent, assuring me that swift action was being taken. While I appreciate the urgency, district protocols were not followed. When I asked that comments be restored and who turned them off, I was told to leave it alone and trust the board president rather than being given answers. Without accountability and an overhaul of both the school board and district administration, we risk declining education quality, eroding neighborhood stability and falling property values.
