Abraham Ramirez, 55, faces 11 counts of sexual assault and kidnapping after DNA match links him to four cold casesA 30-year-old Ventura County sexual assault case that never went to trial has led to the indictment of a man in four Arizona cases that had gone cold. Abraham Ramirez, 55, was indicted in Maricopa County on 11 sexual assault and kidnapping-related counts, according to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office and Ventura County Sheriff’s Office. A sexual assault kit was collected at the time but not processed. The 1994 Ventura County case was dismissed for lack of evidence, the DA’s office said. The kit had finally been tested as part of the Ventura County Sexual Assault Kit Initiative, a countywide program launched in 2022 to process unexamined kits.
