Kirk called Godspeak his church for a few years, but he claimed McCoy as his pastor until his death. “Charlie called me his pastor,” McCoy told The Acorn, “but I prefer to be known as his friend and greatest fan.”The two met in 2019, McCoy said. “He goes, ‘What do you mean?’ and I go, ‘A young conservative,’ and we laughed, and later we became friends,” McCoy said. A funeral for Kirk has been set for Sept. 21 at State Farm Stadium in Kirk’s home state of Arizona.
