Plans have been submitted to Havering Council to put up seven new mobile homes at Gravel Pit, in Gerpins Lane, as well as to keep the three mobile homes already on the site. It comes after the caravan owners were hit with a temporary stop notice from the council in July, which concluded that the site was an "unlawful development" on green belt land. As the stationing of the mobile homes was undertaken without planning permission, the owners were told to stop all works until September 10. According to the planning statement for the new caravans, the applicant "acknowledges" this notice, and has "ceased all unauthorised activities pending the determination of this application". The statement added that the application has been prepared to "address concerns raised by the council" and to "establish a lawful planning framework for the proposed development".
