Jasprit Bumrah became the 29th player to claim 150 Test wickets in away contests with the dismissal of Mitchell Marsh on the opening day of the 2024 Boxing Day Test at the MCG. Bumrah was once again India's leading light on the opening day in Melbourne, claiming three wickets as Australia finished the day on 311-6 having won the toss and opted to bat first. The wicket of Marsh was Bumrah's 150th dismissal in away Tests.
