London Fire Brigade (LFB) control officers received eight calls reporting the fire in Links Avenue, with the first coming in at 12.14pm on September 22. Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were dispatched to the scene from stations across Romford, Dagenham and Ilford. At the scene, the fire was found to have damaged most of the first floor and roof of the home. It’s really important that you never leave a candle unattended and keep them away from anything else that can easily catch alight. "Never leave them unattended around your home, take particular care with children and pets and blow them out properly before you go to bed."
