Aerial photos show building works underway at the site of the Upminster Travelodge, in Station Lane, where it appears the foundations of the hotel are still being laid. The works started in June, although faced a temporary pause later in the month due to the heat. Havering Council previously approved a planning amendment to allow hot food to be sold on the premises. Restaurant chain Loungers Ltd - which owns Lounge, Cosy Club and Brightside - also applied for a premises licence for the site at the end of May.
