Muhammad Usman, 32, has managed Phone Hub in Shirley Precinct for more than three years. Since April both Muhammad and other shop staff at businesses in the precinct have been victims of racist abuse and vandalism. Speaking to the Echo, the 32-year-old said: “Every day feels like a battle, it’s like we’re under attack. Coming to work affects my mental health as I get worried when I hear the teenagers outside. “The issues have gone on for so long now we’re just worried it won’t stop.
