Cllr Altaf 'Tiger' Patel said he had faced questions over the word ‘immigration’ on his cab and decided it might be best to cover the word as he kept being asked about it. He said: “I am not proud of doing so, but one guy got out of the cab because he didn’t like the word ‘immigration’. “They even start showing me videos of boat crossings and asylum seekers saying they are ‘terrorists’." Cllr Patel said: “I have had the advert on for three years and never had someone question the word ‘immigration’ before. It is the word ‘immigration’ and it is part of an advert."
