OWASSO [mdash] Ellen "Claudette" Gourd passed peacefully on July 30, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, surrounded by her loving family. She was 79. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Moodys Cemetery near 19265 St Hwy 82B. Her family will offer tributes in her honor. Online condolences may be shared at www.reedculver.com. Born in McAlester, OK, Claudette was the daughter of Claude and Letha Ellen Henderson and sister to Junius Henderson. She grew up in Tulsa and graduated from Nathan Hale High School. Claudette's life was marked by faith, creativity, and love for family. A skilled artist and Master Doll Craftsman, she brought beauty into the world through her handmade porcelain dolls, painting, and sewing. She lovingly served her church as a seamstress and faithful prayer warrior. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Coy, her brother Junius, and other dear family members. Claudette is survived by her husband Kenneth Gourd; children Becky Johnston (Joel), Bruce Gourd (Tracy), Debbie Barnett, Shelly Bergman (Mike), and Richie Gourd (Kelly); along with many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her warmth, grace, and unwavering faith leave a lasting legacy in the hearts of all who knew her.
