Betty Workman, 91, passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, September 02, 2025.
Betty was born on August 15, 1934 in Powell, Wyoming to Ray G. and Ruth A. (Hazen) Myers.
Funeral services will be 2:00, Monday, September 08, 2025 at Green Country Funeral Home in Tahlequah, OK.
After graduating from Powell High School, she met Robert L. Workman, Jr and was married on January 19, 1953 in Montana.
Shortly after their wedding they made their home in Tahlequah, Ok.
In this union they welcomed 2 children, Charles L. Workman and Robbie L. Lankford.
As her children grew older, she began her career as a Switchboard Operator for Northeastern State University.
After 20 years she retired in 1995.
After retirement, she began her next love of spending time with family, friends, and traveling the United States.
Betty loved spending time square dancing.
She loved to tell stories of her childhood while growing up in Wyoming, mostly of her time feeding the animals with her father while he was working in Yellowstone National Park.
Her pride and joys were her grandchildren, until the great grands arrived.
She loved attending all of their activities, until she was unable to travel but always called to see how they did.
She knew everyone's birthdays and never missed the opportunity to give a birthday card.
She loved cooking and collecting recipe's, her favorite by the family is her famous potato soup.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Robbie Lankford, Tahlequah; grandchildren, Jeannie Bunch (Mike) Tahlequah, Sandi Casey (Mark) Tahlequah, Robert Casey (Sara) Claremore, Latosha Steeley Tahlequah, Angela Cook (James) Hulbert; and 9 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren with one on the way, many nieces, nephews, and many beloved friends.
Betty is preceded in death by both parents, her son.
Brothers Ralph Myers, Glen Myers, Loyd Myers, sister Ramona Hoffman, half-brother Roy Myers, and half-sister Nyna Myers.
