TAHLEQUAH [mdash] Dr. Daniel Royce Fuller of Tahlequah, Oklahoma died on September 2, 2025 at the age of 87. He was born in McCamey, Texas on November 2, 1937 to Tom and Abbie Fuller. Dan had three older siblings Loyce, Tommy, and Jan, who loved him and looked over him. He was a talented football player in high school and received a full-ride football scholarship to attend College of the Ozarks. There, he met Mary Jane Mainer and they married on April 9, 1960. In 1963, they had their first son Danny Mack. Dan successfully graduated with his Doctorate of Ed. in 1967. Then the family moved to Tahlequah, Oklahoma where they had their second son David in 1968. He was an avid reader regularly checking out from the library. He was a fan of Arkansas Razorbacks Football and St.Louis Cardinals Baseball. Dan and Mary Jane were blessed with over 63 years of marriage. Their two sons had two daughters each; they loved their four granddaughters unconditionally. Dr. Dan had a lengthy career as a Psychologist including contributions to the Tahlequah Health Dept. He was a faculty member at Northeastern State University for 48 years. In 2009, he became one of the Original Centurion Honorees. In 2019, he was inducted into the Northeastern State Athletics Hall of Fame. Preceded in death by his dear wife Mary Jane Fuller; parents Thomas Lonzo Fuller and Abbie Gail (Stearns) Fuller, brother Tommy Leon Fuller, and sisters Loyce Golden and Jan Fuller-Fitzgerald. He is survived by his sons: Danny Mack Fuller, and David Brian Fuller and wife Barbara; granddaughters: Savannah Whitlock and husband Frank, Eden Holey and husband Dillon, Piper Fuller, Sarah Fuller and fiancée Isaiah Gibbs; and great-grandchildren Lincoln Holey, Charles Royce Whitlock, and Amelia Whitlock; and many extended family members.
