Posted by Kamp Cook on September 20, 2025Fall fishing is starting to heat up. Cooler mornings have rivers in better shape, and trout are more active through the day. On the Madison and Yellowstone, streamer fishing is picking up for browns staging for the spawn. On Fort Peck and Canyon Ferry, walleye are holding deeper, but action is steady on crankbaits trolled along rocky ledges. Smallmouth are still aggressive, especially in the afternoons when the sun warms the rocks.
