Barry Lloyd entered a guilty plea to one count of possessing a fighting dog while Gemma Whalen entered a guilty plea to one count of being in charge of a dangerously out of control dog when they appeared before magistrates in September.
Whalen, 40, had been in charge of an XL bully-type dog which was dangerously out of control in Hereford's Kingsway on March 5, prosecutor Camilla Toscana told magistrates in Hereford.
And Lloyd, 56, had been in possession of a dog to which section 1 of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 applied, namely an XL bully-type dog named Nina, on May 22, the court heard.
ALSO READ:A contingent destruction order was made for XL bully-type dog Nina, meaning that the dog can be destroyed if certain measures to keep it under proper control are not abided by.
XL bully-type dogs were added to the list of banned breeds in the UK in February 2024, with owners required to register their dog for an exemption scheme.
