Comment on A dark day for democracy in Malahide by Donat Quinn
['Dr Ruairi Hanley']
Comments for Irish Medical Times
A good example of this phenomenon occurred in a hotel in Malahide, Dublin, one recent Sunday when I spotted a security man on the door of a conference room.
The occasion was an Emergency General Meeting (EGM) of the Irish College of General Practitioners (ICGP) — an event that made national headlines.
Yet, when this occurred, we were again told “there will be no voting today”.
I also saw calls for those of us who walked out of the EGM to be “named and shamed”.
Thank you in particular to those readers who sent messages of support and kindness in 2018, they were greatly appreciated.
