The victim in yesterday’s road traffic collision on the N24 bypass near Cahir has been named locally as Martin ‘Monty’ Power (70) who was a native of Gaile near Boherlahan. Mr Power, a married father of three, died when his motorcycle was involved with a collision with a van at approximately 11.05am on Sunday morning. The Cathaoirleach of Tipperary Cahir Cashel Municipal District Cllr Roger Kennedy extended his sympathies to the Power family at this morning’s Municipal District meeting. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses, especially any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 10.45am and 11.15am on Sunday morning.
