DFDS Increases Capacity on Rosslare–Dunkirk Route
['Siobhan Murphy']
South East Radio
DFDS has announced a significant upgrade to its Rosslare–Dunkirk route with the deployment of Victoria Seaways, set to begin service from 26 September.
The move comes in response to sustained growth in demand for direct Ireland–Europe crossings, both for freight hauliers and leisure travellers.
For passengers, the enhanced comfort and connectivity onboard Victoria Seaways make the crossing more accessible for families, leisure travellers and those touring with vehicles such as caravans and campers.
“This boost in capacity on the Rosslare–Dunkirk route demonstrates the latent demand there is from both business and leisure travelers on this key route and I look forward to the service going from strength to strength,” said Glenn Carr, Director of Commercial Business Units at Iarnród Éireann.
The vessel upgrade also reinforces DFDS’s long-term investment in Ireland’s transport infrastructure, helping to future-proof cross-border logistics while supporting regional economic growth.
