You studied consultants working in a typical strategy consulting firm and found first that they’re not all working the crazy 80-hour weeks that we maybe think that they’re working or that they pretend to be working, but also that there were some pretty interesting differences between men and men and between men and women. SARAH GREEN: One of the things that comes up for people is you talk about people working less or being non-transparent about how much less they’re working and they seem to be working. I think it would be great if the organizations would change the expectations and the way that they organize their work so that people don’t have to resort to these kinds of strategies to reduce their work hours.
