CURT NICKISCH: So let’s talk about the linking in the right sort of way, because I think students of disruption know about skunkworks projects, and they’ve studied ideas coming out of companies having a hard time getting off on their own or needing to be separate. CURT NICKISCH: If that capabilities link is so important, it seems like established companies should be crushing it when it comes to disruption, because they have these capabilities that startups don’t have. SCOTT ANTHONY: I think that the basic thing that’s wrong with it is, if you talk about that process of the established company failing and the new company emerging, the challenge is that creative destruction carries a very heavy transaction tax.
