A documentary examining innovative approaches to American education will have its world premiere Thursday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m. at Salve Regina University through newportFILM. “Multiple Choice,” produced by Ted Dintersmith, follows students and teachers at the Emil & Grace Shihadeh Innovation Center in Winchester, Virginia. The program integrates career-based learning with traditional academics in fields including carpentry, welding, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. A panel discussion at 8:15 p.m. will feature Dintersmith, Haine, Winchester Public Schools Superintendent Jason Van Heukelum, educational advocate Tony Wagner and Innovation Center student Luis Daniel Marquez-Cardoso. “Multiple Choice raises urgent questions and sparks a much-needed conversation about how we prepare students, and how American education must evolve,” said newportFILM Executive Director Cathleen Carr.
