Joe Logue scored just 87 seconds into Salve Regina University’s home opener Tuesday night, but Johnson & Wales University answered in the second half for a 1-1 draw in non-conference men’s soccer at Toppa Field. Salve Regina outshot Johnson & Wales 13-10, including a 6-5 advantage in shots on goal. Ethan L’Italien led all players with four shot attempts, while Luke Woodward paced Salve Regina with three shots. The series history favors Salve Regina, which leads 11-6-3 in the 20th all-time meeting between the schools. Salve Regina returns to action Tuesday at Connecticut College in New London at 4 p.m. Johnson & Wales opens conference play Saturday at Nichols College.
