Thanks to the support of tank and history enthusiasts, the £50,000 required to get the Cold War-era tank running was raised, meaning it will be able to make its public debut at TANKFEST 2025. The Tank Museum launched its online fundraiser for the M47’s restoration in June 2024, and in under a year was able to reach its £50,000 target, thanks to public supporters and generous private donations. Matthew Pyle, an engineer with experience in tank restorations, was chosen to bring the tank back to running order, with finishing touches now taking place.
