New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) has announced plans to remove 27 abandoned aircraft from various locations at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) as part of efforts to improve operational efficiency and safety at Manila’s main gateway. The airport operator stated that these abandoned aircraft are currently occupying space needed for active airport operations. NNIC, which took over airport operations in September 2024, is working in coordination with the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) and the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) to address this long-standing issue.
