Oxfordshire NHS trust ranks as UK's best for living kidney transplants

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust received the praise in the latest annual report from NHS Blood and Transplant.
Of the 201 adult kidney transplants carried out at the trust during 2024-25, 68 were from living donors - more than any other centre, including larger transplant units.
Nicki Hayward-Priest, lead for the living donor team at the trust, said: "This success is only possible due to our multi-faceted approach and collaborative effort in transforming the donor pathway.
A spokesperson for Oxford University Hospitals said: "This remarkable achievement highlights Oxford University Hospitals' commitment to excellence, innovation, and patient-centred care.
Oxford University Hospitals has played a leading role in the National Living Donor Kidney Sharing Scheme, with about one third of its transplants performed through the programme.
