Before creating a new instance, check whether you would be creating a duplicate, and don’t create that duplicate. Finding duplicate email addresses covers the case where the user has created duplicate instances. If your app will weed out duplicate instances by scanning for duplicate email addresses, don’t let the user go ahead and create them in the first place.
