If you label your button as ‘Play button’ your VoiceOver customers will hear ‘Play button. Your control’s label is a label, not a sentence, so there is no need to end it with a period. It can be a common trap to fall into, thinking that accessibility labels are just for VoiceOver, but they’re also used for Voice Control and Braille displays too.
