News news
Stellantis Financial Services UK has made a provision of £37.1 million in its 2024 accounts to cover the potential cost of a motor finance compensation scheme being considered by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
Stellantis Financial Services UK, which became the exclusive captive finance partner for Stellantis brands in the UK in 2023, said the provision reflects management’s best estimate after considering a range of scenarios.
In its latest accounts filed to Companies House, Stellantis Financial Services said the FCA’s review and the legal proceedings created considerable uncertainty but confirmed it had taken legal advice and discussed the issue at senior management and shareholder level.
Despite the provision from Stellantis Financial Services UK, the business reported a strong set of results for 2024.
Pre-tax profits rose 79% year-on-year to £69.4 million, its first full year operating as Stellantis’ sole UK captive finance partner.
