Ford’s Puma Gen-E has become one of the UK’s most in-demand new electric cars this month after qualifying for the full £3,750 discount under the Government’s £650 million Electric Car Grant (ECG).
According to Auto Trader, interest in the model has soared, with the Puma Gen-E now accounting for 6.4% of all brand-new electric car enquiries on its platform in September.
The surge in enquiries has propelled Ford into the top three most popular EV brands on Auto Trader, with a 7.6% share of demand, behind MG (17.1%) and Renault (8.1%).
Alongside the E-Tourneo Courier, the Puma Gen-E is one of only two vehicles currently eligible for the top grant discount.
Overall, traffic to Auto Trader’s new car platform rose 4% month-on-month and year-on-year, buoyed by the September plate change, increased manufacturer discounts, and the roll-out of the ECG.
