Final insured loss estimate for floods pegged at $2.5B

Switzerland-based PERILS AG has finalized its insurance industry loss estimate for flooding caused by storm Boris in September 2024 at 2.15 billion euros ($2.5 billion), 14% higher than the company’s initial estimate of €1.9 billion, Artemis reported.
The storm, also known as Anett, brought heavy rain and severe flooding to Austria, the Czech Republic and Poland, with Italy and Slovakia also impacted.
