Finch Architects restores part of original Schindler’s List factory as museum
['Rob Wilson']
The Architects’ Journal
Finch Architects led the transformation of the site, sensitively restoring key parts of the factory while preserving its untouched sections.
The centrepiece of the new museum space is a hall, divided by a transparent glass wall, with textile partitions inspired by the site’s past.
That is what we achieved within a year – with a budget of less than €1 million – with Finch architects.
Reich’s textile walls and the 25m-long exhibition cabinet in the form of a shop window express Reich’s courage for colour.
Thank you to Nico Warr, Finch Architects and the incredible builders Milan Sudoma and Ivan Lespuh for designing a home for Survivors, who have saved my and our worlds.
