Stuart Anderson MP met with Community Pharmacy England to discuss their Four Point Plan and pledged his support. This comes after the closure of 222 pharmacies in 2024, the second highest annual closure rate on record. Mr Anderson's meeting with Community Pharmacy England, who represent 10,400 community pharmacies, follows his May call for dedicated government support for rural pharmacies. He said: "Community pharmacies provide essential services for residents in rural areas like South Shropshire, helping people to access medicines and healthcare advice on their doorstep. In response to Mr Anderson's campaign, Care Minister Stephen Kinnock MP stated that the government had agreed to increase funding for community pharmacies to more than £3 billion.
