Scottish flags and Union Jacks have been appearing on poles, lampposts and signs across the local authority following a country-wide trend of 'national pride.' People who have described themselves as 'patriots' have taken part in social media campaigns to erect the flags in towns and cities across Great Britain. Councillor and Provost Conaghan says the majority of those who contacted her were concerned about the connotations of the display.
